Website Copywriting

Your website is crucial to your success! Often it's the only visual image of your business that people see. It needs to represent you well. Your reputation depends on it!

But your website must do more than impress. It needs to effectively communicate who you are and what you offer. Visitors to your website are impatient. If they don't understand how you can help them in the first few seconds, they'll move on.

To determine whether your website needs improvement, download and read my free white paper, Is Your Website "Goldbricking"? Answer These 8 Questions to Find Out!

As Easy As 1, 2, 3!

If you need a new website or want to improve an existing one, I'd be delighted to help you. Here's the 3-phase process I recommend:

Phase I — Conceptualization

During this phase, I'll—

  • Help you verbalize your Unique Selling Proposition (Your "USP" is what differentiates you from your competition.)
  •
  • Write an attention-grabbing headline for your home page that incorporates your USP, so visitors grasp in a few seconds how you can benefit them.
  •
  • Recommend website designers, if you don't already have one.
  •
  • Suggest marketing ideas that will bring more traffic to your site.

Phase II — Writing & Design

Working with you and your website designer, I'll—

  • Write copy that clearly, concisely, and convincingly presents your marketing message.
  •
  • Assist with the design of your site, so it is functionally effective.

Phase III — Editing & Implementation

In this final phase, I'll—

  • Refine the copy until you're completely satisfied.
  •
  • Work with you and your website designer to complete the design process.

Fear Not!

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised to see how smoothly, efficiently, and economically this project can be accomplished.

One of my chief goals will be to save you time. You simply need to provide some basic information and overall guidance. I'll handle the time-consuming work of organizing the content and writing the copy. I'll also coordinate the activities of your website designer, if desired.

Designing a website is somewhat like designing a logo or a corporate marketing campaign. All three start by identifying the basics of what makes your company "tick," and then expressing those essentials crisply, clearly, and persuasively.

Yes, I know that good graphic designers often charge more than $5,000 to design a logo, and some advertising copywriters charge more than $10,000 for a single marketing piece.

But I typically charge less than $3,500 to write the copy for a site. After we talk about your needs, I'd be happy to quote a fixed fee or an hourly rate for your project.

Get a "Quick Critique" of Your Website

I'll be glad to evaluate your current site and recommend improvements for you to consider. The cost is only $150, and you can apply it to the first $500 of work I do on your site within six months after the evaluation.

Don't Procrastinate!

Every day that your website isn't operating at its full potential, you're losing money that you could be making!
